CASE STUDY

THE CHALLENGE
Leveraging its arsenal of high-end, cutting-edge hair tools, innovative Chinese beauty tech leader, Tymo, needed a head turning out-of-home campaign to launch the brand to American consumers and establish an instant market presence.

TYMO envisioned ambitious, large scale digital out-of-home advertisements featuring their products interacting with iconic US landmarks — imagine hair dryers launching planes at LAX. While CGI would have been the traditional approach, tight deadlines demanded innovation.

My challenge: create an eye-catching, environmentally integrated out-of-home campaign that delivered maximum impact within limited time and budget

THE SOLUTION
Working with producers, crew, a media consultant, and post-production colleagues I devised a way to blend green screen technology with expert compositing. I was able to to deliver a gigantic, head turning effect without CGI and on time for the media buy.

The brand was able to have their big out of home American debut on the timeline they needed, and generated $1.3m in sales during the flight date: a 529% increase on Amazon compared to the year before.
